In 1986, Bob Begin founded Metalwest in Denver,Colorado, and began to instill trust in a handshake and a company name. In the following years, as Metalwest added new metal processes and new sites, Mr. Begin, his three sons, and the growing family of employees, saw to it that Metalwest became synonymous with flat roll . . . and with fair prices, flexible service, and fast delivery.

In 1997, O'Neal Steel purchased Metalwest, giving it both autonomy and access to the largest family-owned network of metal suppliers and resources in the U.S. Today Metalwest remains the first name in flat roll. Behind it stands O'Neal Steel and the extensive value of a robust private company.
